My first post

The reluctant cartographer is reeling with disgust with respect to USA's 3-1 loss to Costa Rica last night in the World Cup qualifying match in San Jose, however I am forsaking such feelings to work on a large (42 square feet) map of Washington County, Oregon.  The area is just West of Portland, Oregon and includes the Tualatin River as well as the Silicon Forest (Intel, et al.) and Nike's World Headquarters.  The reason for producing the map is so the WashCo Visitors Association can view the natural landscape (including parks, natural areas, trails etc.) and locate various cultural elements.  Eventually a derivation will include various loops (routes) folks can take that combine bicycling, watching birds, tasting wine, canoeing, etc.

The reluctant cartographer is fine with this as long as the visitors do not move here.  Visiting is fine, spending your money here is better, but please, please don't move here.  Stay tuned for the map.  The deadline is tomorrow and this reluctant cartographer had better get to work after burning through the lunch hour setting-up this blog.
